We want to ensure that all students experience a positive transition to high school! As one step in providing MHS with the information needed to make well-informed placement decisions for all incoming students, all 8th grade students will take the STAR exam at Mundelein High School on Saturday November 11th. The STAR assessment is an online test that provides timely feedback on students’ literacy and math skills. STAR assessments are computer-adaptive, which means the difficulty level of each test is adjusted as students move through the assessment. The STAR test results will serve as one data point among many in the placement process. Mundelein High School will also consider students’ fall mathematics and reading MAP scores, other standardized tests administered at the middle school level, past course achievement, and eighth grade teacher recommendations. Thank you for your participation in this process!
