On Monday, September 16th every student at Hawthorn Middle North will be participating in Pinwheels for Peace by creating a pinwheel in their advisory group. On one side the student will write their thoughts about war and peace/tolerance/living in harmony with others. On the other side of the pinwheel students will visually express their feelings. These pinwheels will be “planted” on the front lawn of Middle North on Friday, September 20th as a public statement and art exhibit to help celebrate International Day of Peace on September 21st. It is the hope that the spinning of the pinwheels in the wind will spread thoughts and feelings about peace throughout the country and world.
