Great 4-1 win Thursday night for our boys soccer team against Matthews! We had goals from for different players, Daniel “Destroyer” M, Rico “Dominator” D, Mario “Magic Man” L, and Aditiya “The Sultan” S. Daniel “Viper” V held the left side defense while Anthony “Puma” P held the right. Ben “Barracuda” T moved the ball well in the center creating plays for both Alex “Cobra” C and Dylan “Dynamite” S. Henri “Ocelot” O also did ver well holding the center D. Well done guys – good luck against Lake Zurich South on Wednesday.
The Hawthorn Middle North Girls Soccer Team ended their 2015 season undefeated. The team is the #1 seed in the upcoming Suburban Middle School conference Tournament. They will play their first tournament game on Tuesday, 5/12/15, at Wauconda Middle School. The team they will play will be determined in the first round game on Monday. 5/11/15.

Congratulations to both Jason R. and Andrew J. from Hawthorn Middle North for competing in the IESA State Wrestling Tournament this weekend. Andrew placed in the top 8 wrestlers in the Heavy Weight class, one of the toughest weight classes in Illinois! Way to go boys!
Hawthorn North wrestlers also had a good day at the sectional meet earlier this month. Justin O. placed fourth in an exciting effort, but missed qualifying for the state meet by one place. Congratulations Justin for a great effort this year. Matthew T. finished fourth to end his season. He worked hard and provided the team with many great matches. Congratulations Matthew.
The 8th grade boys volleyball team capped off a tremendous season winning the Championship match in the Suburban Middle School Conference tournament last week. The team finished the season with an undefeated 17-0 record vs. conference opponents and an overall record of 21-1. Congratulations to Stephen A., Antonio B,, Carter D., John D., Matt E., Ryan K., Mitch N., Nick O., Evan P., Fred S., Logan S., Danny W., and team managers, Alex C. and Will K.

FALL “MEET YOUR COACH” CEREMONY:
All parents and athletes selected to participate on one of our fall team sports are cordially invited to attend the Fall “Meet Your Coach” ceremony scheduled to begin at 6:00PM next Wednesday, 9/3/14, in the Middle North cafeteria.
Boys Soccer tryouts:
Tryouts will continue on Thursday, 8/28/14, and Friday, 8/29/14, between 2:15 and 4:30PM daily. Only a select number of candidates will be called back for the Friday tryouts, so please check this website Thursday evening for a list of selected numbers. The first team practice will be on Tuesday, 9/2/14, from 2:15 – 4:30PM. All students MUST have a current sports physical to participate. No Exceptions.
G8 Girls Basketball tryouts:
8th Grade Girls Basketball tryouts will continue tomorrow, Thursday, 8/28/14, from 2:15 – 4:30 PM. The first team practice will be on Tuesday, 9/2/14. Tryouts and practices will be held in the Middle North gym from 2:15 – 4:30 PM.
G6/7 Girls Basketball tryouts:
6/7th Grade Girls Basketball tryouts begin tomorrow, 8/28/14, and will end on Friday, 8/29/14. The tryouts will be held in the Middle North gym from 2:15 to 4:30PM. All students must have a current sports physical on file with the school nurse in order to participate. No exceptions.
Cross Country will be practicing on Thursday, 8/28/14, and Friday, 8/29/14, from 2:15 – 4:30PM. Please remember that all students Must have an updated sports physical on file with the school nurse before tryouts begin. Students who do Not have an updated physical will not be allowed to participate without exception.
Each MN student will need one lock for their PE locker, as well as one for their hall locker. These locks are required and should be purchased at Sports 11, 838 S. Milwaukee Ave, Libertyville, IL 60048 (847)680-1511.
