Students acting their parts

The Great Depression Comes to Middle School North

On Tuesday, January 22nd, the students in Mr. McKenzie and Ms. Balmes’ eighth grade social studies classes were once again thrown back into time. During the 1930s, soup kitchens were an extreme necessity for the downtrodden of the Great Depression. The students had an “enjoyable” time reliving the history, commiserating in their Great Depression experiences, and yes, even were able to enjoy a bit of soup and bread.
