Dear Parents and Guardians:

We hope you and your family are safe and well.

Here are a few reminders and updates:

  • Attendance:
    • Students are expected to attend all Zoom Room classes on their schedule each day. If your child is not able to attend a class, please call the main office at 847-990-4100 to report an absence.
  • No School Monday, September 28th:
    • Monday, September 28th is a non-attendance day for students.  
  • Do you need a book to read?
  • Information will be coming VERY soon regarding  MSN library check-out procedures!

NWEA Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) FALL Assessment:

  • Please click here for the MAP letter sent to you on 09/11/2020 by Dr. Art Abrego.    
  • The Fall MAP assessment will be administered as follows:
    • September 29th (B Day) – 6th grade Reading (8:10 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.)
    • September 30th (A Day) – 6th grade Mathematics (8:10 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.)
  • Technology:
  • Social Emotional Learning (SEL):
    • During your child’s Friday advisory classes, students and staff engage in social emotional learning activities.  This month’s Friday activities have focused on the following:
      • SEL State Standard 2C: 
        • Use communication and social skills to interact effectively with others.
      • Goals/Outcomes: 
        • Establish positive relationships with others. 
        • Demonstrate cooperation and teamwork to promote group effectiveness.
      • Essential Questions: 
        • What makes some groups more effective than others? 
        • What contributes to a positive relationship?

        • Active/reflective listening
        • Constructive feedback

      • The 5th annual Hawthorn Hustle has gone virtual. Raffles and prize medals are back!
      • Discount cards will be available for October 1st.
