Civil War Day at MN

As part of the 7th grade curriculum, students study the Civil War.  Our 6th annual  in-school field trip took place bringing the Civil War to the students.  Appearances were made by re-enactors such as: President and Mrs. Lincoln, three different generals, a Northern spy, children’s games, weapons (infantry and artillery), a period surgeon, vintage baseball players, and even a little bit of fashion.  P.E. staff, softball coaches, 8th graders from the softball team, and some 7th grade students were able to play in the vintage baseball game.  Additionally, 7th grade band students played a Civil War ballad to introduce the changing of rotations.  Students learn about this era in: culture, perspectives of life, and way of life.
