The following is from Jan Hastings, Student Services Coordinator at Cook Memorial Public Library Dist.:
We are pleased to announce the winners of Cook Library District’s 2014 8th Annual Creative Writing Contest! Please see the attachment for a complete list.
This year, we had 106 entries with 64 from 7thgraders. Because of the large number of entries from 7th graders, you will see that many of the winners are in 7th grade.  We chose not to award first, second, and third place winners for this contest.  Because judging writing is somewhat subjective, we award the best of the best from each grade without selecting places.   All of the winners will have their writing published in the library’s 5th literary magazine.  Each school will receive a copy by mid-May.
