|Art Club||Art Club is for those who have a passion for visual art and want to further explore a plethora of art mediums all year round, including watercolor, acrylic paint, pastels, colored pencils, ink, clay, collage, and more. Art Club has also been asked to paint a mural on the walls of the cafeteria.||Ms. Altshuler||We will be meeting Mondays after school in the art room from 2:15 until 3:00. |Game Club||Take a break at the end of your school day to just relax and have fun playing some games. Learn how to play chess and compete against our friends at Middle South. We have board games, card games, strategy games… and you can bring your own!||Mr. Reid||Meets on Fridays, beginning 9/29 in room 127 at 2:15-3:00 pm.|
|Garden Club||Members stay after school for an hour or so and enjoy learning about annuals, perennials and soil. Be a part of the outside gardening events, help care for plants at MN, and have fun.||Ms. Silvertrust||Garden club is blooming on Mondays at 2:15 in 8th grade pod area. We meet all school year.|
|Golf Club||We are open for 6-8th grade, any ability level, and guys and girls.|
We spend 1-2 days a week at the driving range in gregs landing, and 1 day a week at the vernon hills Municipal course
North and South Work together for this club, we usually group by grade if we have a large number of members.
It is a chance to learn a little, play some, and hang out with others that are interested in Golf, its a laid back group.

|Math Team||We play math games, do practice problems and prepare for the Math competitions. If you love math this is the club for you. Students help organize and plan PEP assemblies!

|Scholastic Bowl||Scholastic Bowl is a interscholastic activity that incorporates Jeopardy-style buzzers. Schools will compete in the areas of science, math, social studies, language arts, movies, music, art, and T.V. shows. If you enjoy watching Jeopardy or playing trivia, Scholastic Bowl would be perfect for you!||Mr. Kao||Practices – Tuesday and Thursday from 2:15-3:30 in room 408.|

|Sew What Club||Do you love to craft?? Each week we do different projects that engage, inspire and are fun to do! Some project take several weeks. Many projects are free while others have a small fee and still others require materials to be brought in.||Ms. Altshuler|

|The spring musical will run from the end of February to the middle of May. Depending on how you might be involved in the play, the meetings times could be every day after school during the multi-month span, or just a few days. Schedule flexibility will be necessary.||Website|
|Student Council||Student Council elected representatives and officers make several decisions regarding the school climate, including fun days, fund-raisers and special events.||Mrs. Harris|

|TRY (Teens Reaching Youth)||TRY (Teens Reaching Youth) is a leadership group sponsored by the Hawthorn Middle School North social workers. The group consists of boys and girls (six seventh graders and twelve eighth graders) who have been recommended by teachers and administrators. The TRY students have been identified as having strong leadership, academic and social skills, as well as exceptional understanding and use of the four c’s; critical thinking, communication, collaboration and creativity. TRY students participate in leadership training and have unique opportunities to implement their skills throughout the school year.||Mr. Van or |
