Mrs. Ford’s Rocket Project

Students in Mrs. Ford’s 6th grade science classes were given an engineering task of building a stable rocket.  They learned how the placement of the center of mass and center of pressure affected its stability.  They then built a rocket out of a 2-liter pop bottle, cardboard, construction paper, clay, and the ever-useful duct tape.  Once the rocket was built, students tested it for stability, made improvements, and finally, launched them.
