Dear Parent(s) and Guardian(s),
We hope this message finds you well! The purpose of this email is to share information regarding student learning data posted to your secure account in our PowerSchool Parent Portal.
During our last school year, we expanded our use of the PowerSchool Parent Portal to digitally post report cards for both our middle and elementary school families. Benefits to posting report cards via this secure portal include more timely reporting to parents, as well as easy parent access to both current and past reports. Online report cards are also environmentally friendly! This year, to further streamline our communication with all district families, your child’s standardized assessment reports will also post to this same portal. Digital distribution of these reports reflects a more secure and private method of communication, is environmentally friendly, and provides you with easy, anytime access to your child’s assessment results.
At this time, you will find the following assessment reports posted to your secure account in our PowerSchool Parent Portal:
- FastBridge earlyReading and earlyMath grades K-1 only
This assessment was administered in January to all kindergarten and 1st grade students.
- Measures of Academic Progress (MAP Growth) grades 2-8 only
This assessment was administered in January to all 2nd – 8th grade students.
When reviewing your child’s assessment reports, it may prove helpful to access our Hawthorn District #73 Assessment Guide (English or Spanish). This guide provides detailed information about the purpose and frequency of each assessment, as well as a section titled, “How do I read my child’s report?” for many of the assessments listed. You are also welcome to review our district’s assessment letter (English or Spanish), which was shared with all families earlier this school year.
Please click these instructions (English or Spanish) to learn how to access your child’s assessment reports via the PowerSchool Parent Portal. If you would prefer to receive a paper copy of your child’s assessment reports, please contact your child’s school office so that we may honor your request.
Thank you for your continued partnership in supporting the growth and learning of all students!Sincerely, Dr. Art Abrego, Director of Bilingual Services and Language AcquisitionMs. Allison Stein, Director of Teaching and LearningMrs. Renee Ullberg, Director of Special Services
